Your Donation Makes a World of Difference
ScholarShop is already bringing out the best in Cameroonian students, thanks to generous donations from people like you. Please consider supporting our continued efforts.
Sadly, due to DOGE cuts to US AID we had to suspend our program in Ghana. Nevertheless, ScholarShop is expanding in Cameroon with a private academic partnership, Brothers United for Agricultural Management (BUFAM). They share our mission to empower agribusiness throughout Cameroonian communities! BUFAM’s system operates on a unique double-track boarding school system, designed to accommodate more students and provide increased access to a varying degrees of practical education. BUFAM wants to promote agricultural science with a special focus on small animal husbandry and the business behind a farm. This will equip students with practical skills in caring for and managing small livestock, fostering self-sufficiency, and contributing to sustainable agricultural practices in their communities.
While the start-up costs for small-animal husbandry can be significant, covering expenses such as infrastructure, equipment, and initial stock, this investment is key to building a foundation for long-term success. Our model ensures that within 3-5 years, the program will be entirely self-sufficient. Revenue generated from egg production, broiler chickens, fisheries will cover costs and help feed the students on campus. The BUFAM/ScholarShop partnership is more than just an initiative—it’s a pathway to empowerment, sustainability, and economic growth for schools and communities in Cameroon. ScholarShop has prided itself on being a sustainable international aid/development organization and via unique innovative practice we are close to achieving these dreams and goals.
